ASHLEIGH MAREE KELLY
Ashleigh Maree Kelly draws her inspiration from her home-village, Wallabi Point, amidst the magnificent Saltwater nature reserve.
Drawing for years, her deepest connection and inspiration comes from Australian Native trees and leaves. Art serves as a tool for maintaining her anxiety, the receptive movement of drawing continuously, the long stroke calming her and making her thoughts stop and disappear into the art. The shape of the trees and foliage represent vines of life for Ashleigh and she loves them in all their seasonal personas. The vibrant green of summer, the deciduous winter bareness, the burnt carcasses after the bush burns itself to the ground and the then the regeneration. This is her natural seasonal, transient palette.
